What was nailed to the cross? Probably not what you've been told...

Most Christians have been told time and again that it was God's law that was nailed to the cross. But was it? What if, instead, something entirely different was nailed to the cross? Are you ready to know the truth? And if so, are you ready to follow it?

As you study this site, keep this question in mind: Does God change?  Malachi 3:6, Psalm 89:34, James 1:17, Hebrews 13:8. At least four times we are told that He does not change, he does not alter the things that come out of his lips, that there is no variableness (change) in him, that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

In fact, if God did change, how could we trust and worship him? We would never know from moment to moment what is true and just and right. Our very ability to trust and worship him depends on his unchanging word.

If you want to seek God and worship him the way he asks us to, hopefully this site will help you discover treasures you've never heard before, and lead you out of "Christian paganism". The best place to start is with the "featured articles" to the right. From there, as you are ready to learn more, you can search by category or search by keyword.

But before you read any further, please take a moment to pray for the Holy Spirit to open your heart and mind to His truth, and settle in your heart that you will follow God into HIS truth, even if it means walking away from everything you thought was true, and traditions you have come to love. Because anything less is worship in vain.

About this site:

It is maintained by Judith Koch, a lay person, and consists primarily of articles that were written for the religion column of my local newspapers. There are also a number of downloadable brochures, often created in response to questions or challenges I have received.

Unless otherwise noted, everything on this site was written by me. After many years of believing satan’s new age lie, I started praying for truth, never once believing it would bring me to the foot of the cross. For this reason, I believe that praying for truth, and asking that we will have the ears to hear and the eyes to see is the most important prayer anyone can make.

Once I realized I had believed a lie for so long, I determined to study from the Bible daily for the rest of my life, with the mindset that if it wasn’t in the Bible, I wasn’t going to believe it. After all, I had believed a lie long enough so where I had to admit that I could not be relied upon to know truth from error. So I put away all preconceived notions, and started to read the Bible for several hours a day, every day. When I got to Revelation, I didn’t understand most of it, but I did understand the verse that said only those who keep the commandments of God will enter heaven, so I started studying the commandments. Within a few months of my Sunday Baptist baptism, I realized that so many things I assumed were in Scripture were not, Sunday being first on the list. So I sought out a Sabbath keeping church, and in it, I found more Bible truth than I would have imagined possible.

But then I made a fatal mistake: I stopped praying for truth. Like a fool, I assumed I had it all. But then, I was introduced to irrefutable Biblical evidence that the so-called Christian holidays practiced by the majority of Christians were really pagan holidays in disguise, and that God clearly lays out his holidays in Scripture. So I started praying for truth again, and this time, I don’t ever plan to stop. Along with praying for truth, I also pray for 1) the ears to hear and the eyes to see, 2) the courage and conviction to walk in that truth, and 3) the courage and conviction to share that truth with others.

Was I saved with my baptism? Yes, I believe I was, even before I came into more truth. Was I saved when I was keeping pagan holidays? Yes, I believe I was, before I came into more truth. But once I learned more truth, had I continued to walk in ways that I then knew were an abomination to God, I believe that would have made me a worker of iniquity, and would have resulted in my Saviour saying “depart from me, I never knew you.” We all must walk in the light we have been given. Maybe this is why Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 1:18, “he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.”

It saddens me to see so many people call themselves Christians, who are not walking in all the light that is available to them. Surely it saddens God all the more. I pray that this site will introduce you to more light than you have had previously, and that you will also pray for the ears to hear, the eyes to see, and the courage and conviction to walk in the truth, and share the truth with others.

To see an article that I wrote about my religious background, see the article titled “By the Word of Their Testimony”.

Most of the articles you see on this website have been published in secular newspapers (one in California, one in Texas) where I had a semi-regular column in the religion section, although at this time, I am not currently writing a regular column. Permission is granted to republish any of these articles, provided that my name (Judith Koch) and website (www.nailedtocross.com) appear with the article.

May these articles be a blessing to you, and may your name be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Here are some of my favorite Bible study tools and informational websites, in alphabetical order. I do not endorse every word written on each site, in fact some I vehemently disagree with (specifically any that teach that God's annual Sabbaths are no longer valid). You should always pray for discernment when studying Scripture, and be like the Bereans, searching out to see if what you read is true.

http://heavennet.net/writings/100-indisputable-proof-verses/ - A 14-part study refuting the false "Trinity Doctrine" of the Catholic church. This page has 100 verses that disprove that God is three-in-one.

www.hebrew4christians.com - A starting point for learning the Hebrew language.

www.hebrewworld.com - The best source I've found for learning Hebrew (after you have already learned the 22 letters of the aleph-bet) is the "Phonetic Hebrew English Bible" available on CD-ROM from this site. It will show the Old Testament in Hebrew letters, then a transliteration (spelling out the pronunciation of the Hebrew words using the English alphabet), then a translation (the Hebrew words translated into English).

www.hebroots.com - A wealth of information, and access to many of the top teachers in the Hebraic Roots movement. Eddie Chumney, Brad Scott, Rico Cortes, Bill Cloud, and others

www.hishallowedname.com - Keith Johnson teaches about the names of YHVH in Hebrew, including a very deep study of Hebraic linguistics, and Biblical evidence that YHVH is meant to be proclaimed, not disguised as  G-d or Hashem or Adonai or any of the other variants you may see in tradition. The book provides studious grammatical evidence that the correct pronunciation of YHVH would be "YeHoVah" with the emphasis on the final syllable.

www.karaite-korner.org - Keep up with God's calendar. Nehemia Gordon, Hebrew scholar. One of my favorite resources for the Hebrew language.

www.passionfortruth.org - Jim Staley has a ton of wonderful videos on his site. His "Truth or Tradition" is a great place for people new to the Hebraic roots of Christianity. There are also many wonderful articles, so I was humbled when they choose to include some of my articles on their site.

(See the section called "Children of the East" for starters.) Stephen Dickie is the author and speaker who is bringing Yahshua to Muslims. (Seventh-day Adventist background)

www.thinkredink.com - Don Harris has a number of excellent videos and other resources on his site. I especially like the "Parable Paradox" teaching, so you might want to start with it.
